Another sweet recipe to utilize your Fowler’s Clay Works Apple Baker.
- 1 large Fuji or Gala apple
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Apple cider
- Dash of dark brown sugar
- Ground clove to taste
- Ground cinnamon to taste
- Lemon juice & lemon zest to taste
- 1 tsp. water
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Peel 1/2 inch of skin around top of apple.
Core apple all the way through, rub lemon juice on apple and place in Fowler’s Clay Works Apple Baker.
Put zest inside apple. Pour cider around apple.
In a separate small bowl, mix brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, ground cloves. Pack the mixture tightly into and on top of cored apple. Let mixture mound on top of apple.
Pour 1 tsp. water in the bottom of baker and bake for about 30 minutes.
Apple is done when soft. Check with knife or fork. If not soft, cook for additional 10 minutes.
Baste with cider. Serve as is or with a scoop of ice cream.
